POSTCARDS FOR PEREC
This 2022 exhibition catalogue documents the 243 visual interpretations of the postcard messages Georges Perec (1936-1982) dedicated to Italo Calvino. The exhibition's contents were produced by artists living in Nepal, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Poland and the United Kingdom, among other countries. They were also mailed—just like real postcards—via the postal service to Linda Parr, who compiled and edited this publication. See also: Two Hundred and Forty-Two Postcards in Real Colour (below).
FLIGHT — an international mail art project
"It might be nice to fly off somewhere, but are any countries taking visitors? Bad luck, eh! Perhaps an email art project for a little distraction…" - so began the open call for this project. While the call invited perspectives on any aspects of air travel, it was really asking people be creative in the face of adversity posed by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The catalogue documents the work of artists from 23 countries who chose to respond. Published 8 July 2021. (Click image or title to see the publication.)
Two Hundred and Forty-Three Postcards in Real Colour
This postcard-sized collage—one of two made for this project—accompanied the article "Two Hundred and Forty-Three Postcards in Real Colour," which curator Linda Parr wrote for the Book Arts Newsletter, No. 140, July-August 2021 (pp. 2 & 3). Produced by an international group of artists, the 243 postcards in this exhibition illustrate the postcard greetings Georges Perec dedicated to Italo Calvino. This work, first published in Le Fou parle (October 1978), is included in Species of Spaces and Other Pieces, a collection of Georges Perec's writings published by Penguin Classics in 1997. The exhibition, titled Postcards for Perec, was first shown at the Bower Ashton Library, UWE, Bristol, UK (1 July - 31 August 2021). Touring internationally through 2022 and 2023.

FLAGS FOR A NEW WORLD - a mail art project
The brief: re-imagine an existing flag or create a new one. The results add up to being a chromatic artistic adventure that also operate as a poetic plea, take the form of a silent protest and ask us to question our priorities. What is it that flags represent or mean to us? Are they even necessary. Published online 15 October 2018. (Click image or title to see the publication.)
